Welcome to St. Columba’s United Reformed Church. We hope you will find whatever information you are looking for about our fellowship, our services and events, our building and history on these pages. If not, please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
We are a small yet active fellowship, committed to the care of our members and friends, as well as the local community. We are glad to host a number of oganisations on our premises, from other Christian fellowships to local choirs, charities and artists.
Our style of worship is traditional but not formal, our theology quite liberal, and we are open to and welcome a range of approaches.
If you are thinking of joining us for a service or activity, the following information may be helpful.
Priory Street is off Micklegate, just inside Micklegate Bar, about ten minutes’ walk from the city centre. There is limited on-street parking, but the car park on Nunnery Lane is a better option.
Although the main entrance is up a flight of steps there is street-level access via a lift.
If you are coming to a meeting or event in the halls, the entrance is round the side of the building through a gate and down a slope.
Whenever there is a service or event taking place, someone should be on hand to welcome you. Sadly we are not currently able to keep the building open at other times.
Some of our services and discussion groups are shared on Zoom. Please contact the minister if you would like further details
